About Us

Shannon Goodwin is the founder and owner of Rise and Shine Consulting, a firm specializing in helping people and organizations reach their fullest potential. She launched the firm because she is passionate about helping people integrate who they are with what they do at work every day and helping people develop the skills they need to reach their professional and personal goals.

Ms. Goodwin has a corporate background and has held leadership positions in a variety of industries, including technology, financial services, real estate, and customer service. She has over 14 years experience in human resource development, leadership development, sales and customer service. Her expertise and passion are in the areas of career coaching, leadership development and personal productivity.

Throughout her career, Ms. Goodwin has worked with organizations to implement career development systems and coach employees during career transitions. She has worked extensively with companies to train and develop employees, managers and executives in the areas of leadership, talent management, interviewing and selection, time management, communication skills, stress management, performance achievement, team building, and conflict resolution.

Ms. Goodwin holds a B.S. in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been active with and presented for the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD). She has conducted workshops on career management and leadership development for the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the MBA program at The University of Texas at Austin.

Shannon’s professional and personal development background includes training as a facilitator for Steven Covey’s “What Matter’s Most” time management course, and Ken Blanchard’s “Situational Leadership”. She has also completed training courses in Linkage’s “Designing and Implementing Leadership Development Programs”, “Leader Level Facilitation”, Bob Pike’s “Creative Training Techniques”, Personnel Decisions International’s “Selecting for Success”, and Communispond’s “Executive Presentation Skills”.

Ms. Goodwin is qualified to administer and facilitate the DiSC and Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) instruments, and she uses these tools in her work with individuals and teams to identify career possibilities, recognize and build upon strengths, improve communication and address development opportunities.
